The cozy cabin nestled among the chestnut groves

The “teccio” is a small stone cottage nestled among centuries-old chestnut trees on our side of the mountain above the village of Calizzano.

The building, which was once used for drying chestnuts, has now been carefully restored and features, on the ground floor, a small living room with a wood-burning stove, a sofa bed, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a hot-water shower. An outdoor wooden staircase leads to the first floor, which has a spacious bedroom.

Wood and stone envelop the space entirely, creating a cozy, peaceful haven far from the chaos of everyday life and the noisy, gray, smoggy atmosphere of the city.

Nothing disturbs the soul here

Try looking out the window; all you’ll hear is birdsong, the rustling of the woods, and the heady scent of the leaves, mushrooms, and flowers that rule this realm, with the forests of the entire valley in the background—from Mount Settepani (1,386 m a.s.l.) on the right to Bric Mindino in the center (1,835 m a.s.l.). Kilometers of trails wind through these lands for lovers of walks and hikes, whether on foot or by mountain bike.

How to get to the Teccio

The property is located 800 meters from the farmhouse
Accessible on foot or by off-road vehicle via a dirt road that winds its way up through the chestnut groves of Cascina del Santo and the centuries-old chestnut trees surrounding Ca del Re
If needed, we are always available to provide shuttle service using our vehicles.

The animals of the forest

We remind our guests that we are all visitors to this environment, so we ask for your respect and appreciation for the nature that so generously surrounds us. Among the trees and ferns of the woods, it is common to have unexpected encounters with deer and foxes, and to hear the call of the roe deer, the hoot of the owl, and the howl of the wolf. Don’t be alarmed—just enjoy this immersion in nature.
