Fo Grossu Trail

Hidden among the canopy of the Melogno Forest, on a small plateau, one cannot help but be amazed by this beech tree, which, standing 37 meters tall with a circumference of 3.80 meters and two centuries of history, leaves visitors breathless. A unique, monumental tree, a guardian of these mountains.

Map of the Cravè Lakes

The water flowing from the rocks and beech trees of Melogno converges in this small valley at the edge of the Barbottina National Forest, forming small mountain lakes in a picturesque landscape. In the warmer months, this spot is often a destination for a short walk—or, why not, even a refreshing swim.

Rionero–Castello–Pineta Loop

A loop trail starting from the center of Calizzano, suitable for everyone. The trail takes you through the picturesque Rionero Valley and its lush vegetation, all the way to Calizzano Castle and the pine forest, which features playground equipment and an outdoor fitness area.

Hiking Trail to Monte Spinarda

Mount Spinarda is one of the highest peaks in our valley; the climb can be challenging for those who are out of shape, but once you reach the summit, the effort is rewarded by the magnificent view stretching from the Piedmontese Alps toward Garessio and the sea, all the way to Mount Settepani and Bardineto.

Trail at Fonte delle Anime and Monte Merlo

A trail that winds through the varied landscapes of our valley, starting from the centuries-old chestnut grove and passing through the tall beech forest, and stopping at the famous Anime springs in Bauda—the very same water that flows from this mountain to the bottling plant in Calizzano.

Beech Tree Trail

A 22-kilometer hike or mountain bike ride through the forests of Calizzano, passing through the small village of Riofreddo, along the Siondo River, and through these charming little mountain valleys.
